Six Questions for Megha Katoria and Anil Sharma, Editors, Literary Cocktail Magazine

Literary Cocktail Magazine publishes poems to 20 lines, micro-fiction to 200 words, critical writing/essays on any topic related to literature, art, and photography. “Life is a cocktail of emotions and we are here to let you all spill forth those deep feelings, emotions, deliberations or observations.” Issues may be themed. Read the complete guidelines here.

SQF: Why did you start this magazine?

Megha & Anil: Life is truly a cocktail, a blend of all shades of emotions, people, nature, animals and so much more. We wanted to truly bring together varied shades of creativity and connectivity. It is a platform for creativity that is inclusive and welcomes diversity—ANYONE from ANY PART OF THE WORLD can submit to the magazine.

SQF: What are the top three things you look for in a submission and why?

M&A: We love to see creativity and uniqueness in all its flavors. Promethean content that is impactful and stirring is sure to grab our attention. It is a great relief to see that a contributor has read through the submission guidelines and made our work easier.

SQF: What most often turns you off to a submission?

M&A: A contributor submitting without reading through the submission guidelines… Oh! That can be a pain.

SQF: What do you look for in the opening paragraph(s)/stanza(s) of a submission?

M&A: Nothing specific as such but something that induces us to read on further.

SQF: Are there specific genre/topics you’d like to see more of in your submissions?

M&A: We encourage diversity in all forms. In fact, we do not want to inhibit the creative endeavors of the writers or artists.

SQF: What one question on this topic do you wish I'd asked that I didn't? And how would you answer it?

M&A: What are you primarily trying to accomplish through your publication?

Answer: We are simply trying to create a worldSQF- without boundaries. Cheers! Creative souls, we look forward to receiving your works for the forthcoming issues of our magazines.

Thank you, Megha and Anil. We all appreciate your taking time from your busy schedule to participate in this project.
